More than 23,000 webpages blocked in Russia for propaganda of terrorism

Roskomnadzor reported on blocking of more than 23,000 webpages with propaganda of the banned terrorist organization «Islamic State» on the Internet. Izvestia reported referring to the report of the department.

According to the document, about a third of the blocked extremist materials were posted in the social network «VKontakte» and on YouTube, while both resources independently limit access to such content.

It is noted that «Islamic State» created several Russian-language editions that create movies and magazines in PDF format, distributed over the Internet. According to Izvestia, Russian law enforcers track seven Russian-language extremist periodicals.
