Almazbek Atambayev reminds that Kyrgyzstan - on rise

Almazbek Atambayev, congratulating the people of Kyrgyzstan on Nooruz, recalled that the country is on rise. The head of the Presidential Administration Sapar Isakov read out the ceremonial speech of the head of state dedicated to the vernal equinox day.

The President stressed that the renewal in nature begins on March 21: the first spring thunder, the swelling of buds in trees, sprouting of greenery.

«Since ancient times, the Kyrgyz people put their houses in order on the eve of the holiday, they cooked sumolok of flour and sprouted grains of wheat. On the day of the holiday, each family laid a dastorkon — a white tablecloth with various dishes, and it was believed that the generous celebration of Nooruz will bring abundance to the house and will create a basis for success throughout the year. Continuing great traditions and customs, like many peoples of the East, the Kyrgyz people call Nooruz a national holiday, the holiday of spring, labor, unity and peace. A holiday of an ineradicable hope for a better future," Almazbek Atambayev said in the statement.

The head of state stressed that today’s Nooruz is significant for being celebrated in the Year of Morality, Education and Culture.

«The people of Kyrgyzstan are experiencing a period of their spiritual revival. The traditions that have passed the test of time are getting deeper and stronger; the best pages of the centuries-old history of Kyrgyzstan and the culture of our ancestors are opening up for us. The country is on rise," Almazbek Atambayev added.

Despite the impact of the global economic and financial crisis, fall in energy prices, the average GDP growth rate from 2013 to 2016 was 5.4 percent. We have achieved energy independence and stability of the energy sector.
