Nursultan Nazarbayev explains why border with Kyrgyzstan was closed

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev commented on why the border with in 2010 was closed, Kazinform reported.

According to it, the border in 2010 was really closed. «If the situation repeats in the future, we will close the border again. Which state won’t close the border in this situation? Today, Turkey is closing the borders, and at that time Uzbekistan and Tajikistan also closed the border with Kyrgyzstan, so there is no one to blame for this, it was the fault of the state in this country," he explained.

The President of Kazakhstan said that Kyrgyz and Kazakh people are native, and there are no those who don’t support it. «We are neighboring countries. Presidents and heads of state will leave, but our peoples remain, so we shouldn’t pay much attention to this. They have elections now, everything is changing, there are such moments in this situation," Nursultan Nazarbayev said in an interview with media representatives.

Earlier, in an interview with Euronews, Almazbek Atambayev replying the question of the journalist: «Don’t you think that this union (EEU) reflects most of all the interests of ? (…), said the following: «We need to trade with someone, we need to somehow work with our neighbors. If we don’t join the Eurasian Economic Union, a blockade threatened us.
