Bishkek to host meeting of Eurasian Intergovernmental Council

Today, Bishkek will host meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council at the level of prime ministers. The last night, the Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev arrived in Kyrgyzstan.

As the government of Kyrgyzstan reported, First Vice Prime Minister Mukhammetkaly Abulgaziev met Dmitry Medvedev at Manas International Airport.

Yesterday, the heads of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers Karen Karapetyan, Belarus Andrey Kobyakov and Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev also arrived in Bishkek. Tigran Sargsyan, chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), will also take part in the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting.

 Yesterday, the Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with the Chairman of the EEC and the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan. With Tigran Sargsyan, the sides discussed the future meeting of the council. With Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the Prime Minister discussed future events in honor of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan and the 20th anniversary of the signing of the treaty on eternal friendship between the two countries.

Today, the Prime Ministers will discuss 14 issues in a narrow and expanded format, including the state of affairs in mutual trade, integration potential in various spheres of the economy, joint forecasts of the development of the agro-industrial complex, development of exports to third countries. The agenda includes questions on the abolition of the decision of the EEC board regarding the abolition of VAT on the import of agricultural goods from other EEU countries to Kyrgyzstan and the approval of the Kazakh system of traceability of goods subject to veterinary control.
