Reports of agencies on fight against corruption called meaningless

Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Zhenish Razakov called reports of a number of agencies on fight against corruption meaningless. He stated this today at a government meeting.

According to him, rather than to provide a report, which shows the changes, they present the same report without details. The most unnecessary reports of the six departments are:

— Ministry of Agriculture;

— The State Service for Migration;

— State Committee of Communication;

— State Property Fund;

— State Agency on Environment Protection and Forestry;

— State Inspectorate for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Safety.

Deputy Prime Minister said that 99 criminal cases were opened in respect of officers of the Ministry of Education. The law enforcement bodies also have high corruption indices.  74 criminal cases were filed against police officers. 1,274 applications were received from citizens.

In 2016, Kyrgyzstan initiated 812 criminal cases on corruption.

State Committee for National Security filed 275 criminal cases with loss of 1 billion soms, the Ministry of the Interior — 484 cases at 390 million soms, the State Service for Combating Economic Crimes (Financial Police) — 245 cases at 147.4 million soms.

«Ministries and departments are not interested in eliminating corruption. Offices don’t give reports about the ongoing anti-corruption measures. If they do, they made formally. 201 criminal proceedings were initiated against employees of local government. This suggests that the authorized representatives of the government don’t work in the field of corruption component," Deputy Prime Minister said.
