Kulov: Presidential candidate may consult with other countries’ politicians

The leader of Ar-Namys party believes that future presidential candidates may consult with influential politicians of other states, but only in the interests of Kyrgyzstan, Felix Kulov said at a round table.

According to him, of course, the leadership of any other country can’t determine the future successor.

«Such a dialogue with the leaders of the leading states may occur only in the interests of Kyrgyzstan. I don’t think that a presidential candidate has no chances without the support of another state. But a potential candidate shouldn’t act strongly against any hostile country," Felix Kulov said.

Journalist Kabai Karabekov added that the influence of Russia and Kazakhstan in the upcoming presidential elections 2017 will be obvious, but there is no question of a successor on the agenda of the upcoming visit of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin to Kyrgyzstan.

«It is only possible if this topic affects the Kyrgyz side," Kabay Karabekov said.

Of course, it is very important for Astana and Moscow who will head Kyrgyzstan, and in which direction relationships will develop.

Roundtable participants rejected the theory that the same Russia through the media can influence public opinion in Kyrgyzstan on the eve of the presidential race in favor of a particular candidate.
