OTRK gets response from Belize similar to Ata Meken data

OTRK (Public Radio and Television Corporation of Kyrgyzstan) received documents from Belize on offshore companies Southfield and Avalon. They are identical to the data obtained at the request of deputies from Ata Meken faction.

The day before, CEO of OTRK presented on Facebook the documents received from Belize at the request of journalists of the company. Earlier, copies of these documents served as the basis for a journalistic investigation about the involvement of the Socialists in environment of ex-president of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev and the trust of the shares of MegaCom company through offshore companies Southfield and Avalon.

The presented documents have not a word about the scandal with the Socialists. Journalists got a response that Southfield and Avalon really existed. Southfield was included in the register on July 9, 2009 and was excluded from it on January 1, 2016. Its status has not changed at the date of the public inspection.

Avalon was registered on February 23, 2010 and was removed from the register on January 1, 2014. The company also does not work today.

However, there is no information about shareholder of the company and whether there were any trust contracts or options. It is impossible to get this information, because it is private. The report of the public inspection does not contain the names of directors and shareholders, as this information can only be obtained from an official agent of the company.

As for the apostilles of the documents, which were a part of the scandal around Belize, the received documents prove only that the apostilles with these numbers have been actually issued on October 21, 2016. But there is no information on the content of the documents certified by the apostilles.

Note, Ata Meken party got a response from Belize earlier on. The documents submitted by the leader of the Socialists said: «… it is not possible to name the owners. Under the terms of the registration of a company, information can only be got by its owners or shareholders." However, Omurbek Tekebayev then added that documents show that neither he nor Salyanova nor Shykmamatova were not among the shareholders of the offshore companies.
