Kyrgyzstan plans to raise tariffs for electricity and heating

Kyrgyzstan plans to raise tariffs for heating and electricity in 2017, the State Agency for Regulation ofFuel and Energy Complex reported to 24.kg news agency.

It is expected that from April 1, the tariff for heating energy for the population may grow from 1,134.8 soms to 1,615.4 soms.

Since August 1,the electricity tariff will grow by 10 percent. The tariff for the majority of consumers consuming 700 kilowatt-hours will be 84 tyiyn.

Despite the fact that the government decree stipulated a gradual increase in prices for electricity and heating, the Agency didn’t raise tariffs in 2016.

«There are all calculations, tariff policy is developed. However, we are not sure that we will be allowed to execute the decision of the government this year," the department explained.
