Almaty to raid vehicles from Kyrgyzstan

Almaty (Kazakhstan) plans to conduct raids on cars with Kyrgyz number plates. Tengrinews.kz reported citing the State Revenue Department for southern capital of Kazakhstan.

As noted, this is connected with the increased in Almaty number of cars, registered in Kyrgyzstan. «It is planned to carry out raids on the facts of Kazakhstanis' driving of vehicles, registered in the Kyrgyz Republic, for placing them in temporary storage warehouses and bringing citizens to administrative responsibility," the department reported.

As it was explained in the department, these cars are subject to customs declaration with the payment of fees from the date of entry into force of the court or the customs authority decision on administrative or criminal responsibility of drivers, who operated vehicles with the Kyrgyz number plates.

Therewith, the detained cars will not be given to their owners till the customs declaration procedure and payment of the fees.

Previously, there were detained 306 cars with Kyrgyz number plates. At least 44 cars, placed in temporary storage warehouses were not claimed, seven of them were confiscated.

The State Revenue Department of Almaty explained that the transfer of vehicles, owned by the citizens of Kyrgyzstan, for temporary use on the territory of Kazakhstan is impossible.

«It means that driving of these vehicles with driving directive by natural persons permanently residing in the territory of EEU is prohibited," the department said.
