The rally, which was held today by the residents of Naryn, has been finished. Own sources informed 24.kg news agency.
As the press service of the plenipotentiary representative of the government in the region told, the protesters put up two basic requirements: an increase in the electricity limit and coal prices decline.
«As for electricity, electric energy limit for residents of the mountainous areas of the country from October to March is 1,000 kilowatts at a price of 77 tyiyn per kilowatt. Residents asked to increase the limit to 2,000 kilowatts," the head of the press service Ainura Duyshok kyzy told.
According to her, the State Agency for Regulation of Fuel and Energy Complex replied on February 1 that electricity prices had already been approved until 2018. But the request to increase the limit of power consumption for mountain areas will be taken into account when considering the prices for 2018–2021.
As for reduction in coal prices, head of the region Amanbay Kaiypov explained Naryn residents that private organizations are engaged in the sale of coal and the government can not influence the pricing.
«However, there is an agreement with one of the companies — suppliers of coal that the price of a ton of coal in Naryn would not exceed 3,000–3,500 soms," the spokesperson said.
