Two killed after vehicle carrying border guards overturns at night in Issyk-Kul

A traffic accident involving three servicemen from Karkyra border outpost of military unit No. 2028 occurred in Tyup district of Issyk-Kul region at around 1 a.m. on September 7. Sources in law enforcement agencies told 24.kg news agency.

According to preliminary information, a Volkswagen Golf 3 veered off the road and overturned approximately 3–4 kilometers from the Karkyra border outpost, at the sixth kilometer of Tyup—Chaar-Kuduk road.

The injured were first taken to the village of Baizak and then transported by ambulance to the Tyup District Hospital. Two servicemen died in the hospital as a result of the accident. Another sustained injuries.

The deceased are Junior Sergeant A.E.A. (24) and Corporal T.E.T. (22). Sergeant A.B.M. (25) was injured.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., the military unit commander and representatives of the unit’s leadership arrived at the scene to conduct an internal investigation.
