New academic year at Kyrgyzstan’s vocational schools to run until July 3, 2027

The 2026-2027 academic year at primary vocational education institutions (vocational schools) in Kyrgyzstan will begin on September 15, 2026, and end on July 3, 2027.

According to the Ministry of Education, the decision was made to determine the optimal length of the academic year at the primary vocational education level and ensure a rational distribution of the academic workload.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers introduced amendments to the rules governing primary vocational education institutions. Under the resolution, the dates for the beginning and end of the academic year at vocational schools are now determined by the authorized state education authority.

The document also prohibits students from being diverted from classes to work unrelated to the educational process.
