Chinese fuel truck drivers allowed visa-free entry to Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan’s Cabinet of Ministers has introduced a temporary special visa-free regime for Chinese citizens working as truck drivers and engaged in international road transportation of petroleum products to Kyrgyzstan.
Under the resolution, Chinese tanker truck drivers will be allowed to enter and stay in Kyrgyzstan without a visa for the time required to deliver and unload petroleum products, but for no more than five days from the date of entry.
The decision was made to ensure economic security, maintain an uninterrupted supply of fuel and lubricants to the population, and support national businesses.
The State Border Service has been instructed to ensure that such drivers are allowed to cross the state border in accordance with the new special procedure.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to inform the relevant Chinese authorities about the visa-free regime.
If a driver needs to stay in Kyrgyzstan for more than five days, the general requirements of the legislation governing external migration will apply.
