Reason revealed why Xi Jinping missed World Nomad Games opening
Chinese President Xi Jinping was unable to attend the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games at the Bishkek Arena on August 31. Askat Alagozov, press secretary of the Kyrgyz President, reported.
Alagozov stated that during his state visit to Kyrgyzstan, Xi Jinping had planned to attend several international events, including the opening ceremony of the Games.
However, following a natural disaster in China’s Tibet Autonomous Region that left people dead and missing, the Chinese leader asked President Sadyr Japarov for understanding regarding his absence.
«We consider the decision of the Chinese President fully justified in this difficult situation, as he prioritizes disaster relief efforts, search and rescue operations, and personal oversight of the process in his country,» Alagozov said.
The Kyrgyz side extended condolences to the Chinese people and the families of the victims, wishing the successful completion of search and rescue operations and the safe recovery of those missing.
Meanwhile, bilateral meetings and negotiations during Xi Jinping’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan will continue in accordance with the approved program.
