University admissions: 35,099 students enrolled, top fields revealed
Following the university admissions campaign in Kyrgyzstan, 35,099 applicants were enrolled in higher education institutions.
According to the automated information system «Abiturient Online,» 27,800 applicants, or 79.3 percent of the total, were admitted on a fee-paying basis. About 7,300 applicants, or 20.7 percent, were admitted to state-funded places.
At the same time, universities had planned to enroll around 65,000 applicants, including 9,500 for state-funded places and more than 55,000 on a fee-paying basis.
The top fields by number of enrolled students are education and humanities, economics and finance, medicine, information technology, as well as law, architecture and construction.
The largest number of state-funded places was allocated to education, information technology, medicine, architecture and construction.
The top five universities by the number of registered applications were:
- Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Iskhak Razzakov (KSTU);
- Kyrgyz National University named after Zhusup Balasagyn (KNU);
- Osh State University (OshSU);
- Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after Isa Akhunbaev (KSMA);
- Bishkek State University named after Kusein Karasaev (BSU).
The largest number of state-funded places was allocated at KSTU, KNU, OshSU, KSMA and KNAU.
The admissions campaign was held in six rounds. The academic year at universities will begin on September 15, while classes for medical students will start online on September 2.
In 2025, around 30,000 applicants were admitted to universities across the country.
