Child who fell from escalator in Bishkek remains in critical condition

The condition of the child who fell from an escalator at a shopping center in Bishkek remains critically serious but stable, the City Clinical Emergency Hospital told 24.kg news agency.

The accident occurred on the evening of August 11. The child was taken to hospital in extremely serious condition and was unconscious. The boy was admitted to the intensive care unit and placed on a ventilator.

«The child underwent surgery on the day of admission. His postoperative condition is consistent with the surgical intervention he underwent. Fortunately, there has been no deterioration, but the child remains in critical condition. Yesterday, we took him off the ventilator for the first time. The boy is still unconscious, but he is breathing independently. He is receiving the necessary treatment,» doctors said.
