Total assets of Kyrgyzstan’s banking sector reached 1,577.3 trillion soms as of the end of June 2026, up 30.2 percent since the beginning of the year. The press service of the National Bank reported.

According to the central bank, positive growth was recorded across all key segments of the banking sector.

The loan portfolio grew by 18.9 percent since the beginning of the year, reaching 602.6 billion soms.

The total deposit base stood at 924.7 billion soms, increasing by 6.8 percent.

Financing based on Islamic principles reached 26 billion soms. This segment recorded the highest growth since the beginning of 2026, rising by 35.4 percent.

The market is showing a notable gap between the growth rates of lending and customer deposits. The loan portfolio’s 18.9 percent growth is nearly three times faster than the 6.8 percent increase in deposits. The gap points to strong lending activity and high demand for borrowed funds amid a slowdown in the inflow of new deposits.
