Daiyrbek Orunbekov warns of possible arrests over fake news about foreigners
Accounts allegedly linked to former State Committee for National Security (SCNS) chief Kamchybek Tashiev have appeared on social media and are spreading false information, the head of the Presidential Administration’s Information Policy Service, Daiyrbek Orunbekov, said in a social media post.
According to him, similar publications were previously circulated by accounts associated with former politicians Adakhan Madumarov, Almazbek Atambayev, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
Now, Orunbekov said, they have been joined by what he called «fake news from Tashiev’s team.»
If these people are identified, detained, and placed under arrest tomorrow, do not later come out with statements that a son was imprisoned for no reason or a daughter was summoned for questioning without grounds.

According to the official, the monitoring department of the Presidential Administration’s Situation Center identifies accounts attempting to «destabilize society» through social media and examines their links. Law enforcement agencies are also involved in this work.
Orunbekov urged citizens not to spread unverified information and said the country should focus on economic development, infrastructure construction, and the creation of new industrial facilities.
