Bishkek and Shanghai may be linked by direct flights

Airports of Kyrgyzstan OJSC is working on launching direct air service between Bishkek and Shanghai. The company said discussions on opening the new route were held with one of China’s largest airlines, China Eastern Airlines.

Airports of Kyrgyzstan OJSC continues efforts to expand its international route network and attract leading global air carriers.

As part of this initiative, the company held a working meeting with representatives of China Eastern Airlines. During the talks, the parties discussed the launch of direct flights on the Shanghai—Bishkek—Shanghai route.

Chairman of the Board Manasbek Samidinov noted that the launch of the route is part of a broader strategy aimed at integrating Kyrgyzstan into the international aviation network.

«We held talks with the management of one of China’s largest airlines, China Eastern Airlines. We discussed launching direct flights on the Shanghai—Bishkek—Shanghai route. This is exactly the kind of project we have been consistently working on—opening Kyrgyzstan to the world and creating new opportunities for our citizens in travel, business, and international cooperation,» he said.
