SCNS stops tobacco products smuggling channel

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) has uncovered a channel for the supply of smuggled tobacco products into Kyrgyzstan.

According to the security service, on June 23 officers raided several warehouse facilities in Chui region that were allegedly disguised as vehicle service stations.

The estimated value of the seized goods is around 30 million soms. During the operation, the suspected organizer of the smuggling scheme, identified as Sch.R.А., was detained.

The quality of the smuggled products does not meet national legal requirements, which makes their sale prohibited in the country.
