The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has increased its cumulative investment in Kyrgyzstan fourfold during the implementation period of its current strategy.
The announcement was made by EDB Chairman of the Management Board Nikolai Podguzov at a business forum and annual meeting of the bank held in Almaty. He highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s strong economic growth and significant potential for new investment projects.
According to him, these indicators reflect strengthening domestic demand, growth in the construction and trade sectors, and increasing demand for infrastructure projects. This creates additional opportunities for investors and development institutions.
He added that projects supported by the bank are contributing to infrastructure development and industrial modernization in Kyrgyzstan. As an example, he mentioned the construction of the country’s largest solar power plant with a capacity of 300 megawatts, being implemented with EDB support.
At the annual meeting, a new strategy for 2027–2030 was also approved. Podguzov said it will mark a new stage in the bank’s development. In the upcoming period, investment priorities in Kyrgyzstan will focus on areas most critical for the country’s continued economic growth.
