Remittances to Kyrgyzstan approach $1 billion

From January to April 2026, the total volume of remittances from individuals to Kyrgyzstan reached $959.5 million. According to the latest data from the National Bank, the net inflow into the country since the beginning of the year amounted to $880.1 million.

Remittance dynamics and geography

In April 2026, total remittances to the republic reached $259.8 million. This result exceeded all previous monthly remittances.

CIS countries remain the main source, providing $239.8 million in remittances in April. Within the Commonwealth, Russia remains the clear leader, with migrants transferring $231.1 million. Transfers from Kazakhstan reached $5.4 million, while other CIS countries sent $3.3 million.

Transfers from non-CIS countries totaled $20 million in April. The largest share came from the United States at $12.4 million. Turkey sent $600,000, while other non-CIS countries contributed $6.9 million.

Capital outflows from Kyrgyzstan

Total capital outflow from Kyrgyzstan over the first four months of 2026 amounted to $79.4 million. In April alone, $19.8 million was transferred abroad, showing a decline compared to March’s peak of $23 million.

CIS countries received $17.7 million in April, with Russia being the main destination at $17.3 million, while Kazakhstan received $100,000.

Transfers to non-CIS countries totaled $2.1 million. The largest legal outflow went to Turkey at $1.5 million, accounting for over 71 percent of all April transfers to non-CIS countries. The United States received $500,000.
