Earthquake hits southern Kyrgyzstan

An earthquake with an intensity of approximately magnitude 3 hit southern Kyrgyzstan on June 23, the Seismology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences reported.

According to the institute, tremors were recorded at 6:31 a.m. The earthquake’s epicenter was located in Kyrgyzstan, 8 kilometers northwest of the village of Egin-Dzhai, 100 kilometers southeast of the city of Batken, and 105 kilometers southwest of the city of Osh.

The earthquake’s intensity was not felt in populated areas of the country.
