Bishkek celebrated the International Day of Yoga on June 21. The event took place near the monument to Kurmanjan Datka.
According to the press service of the Bishkek City Hall, the event was attended by representatives of the municipality, the Embassy of India in Kyrgyzstan, the United Nations, city residents, and yoga enthusiasts.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Davletbek Tugolbaev, head of the City Development Policy Department of the Bishkek City Hall, noted that celebrating the International Day of Yoga has become a good annual tradition for the capital.
According to him, yoga helps improve not only physical but also mental health, and interest in the practice among city residents continues to grow each year.
As part of the event, a yoga instructor led an open practice session and demonstrated a series of asanas, which all participants were invited to join.
