Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the St. Petersburg State University of Economics.
The award ceremony took place during his working visit to Russia. Following the ceremony, Kasymaliev delivered a guest lecture on Kyrgyzstan’s economic development and Kyrgyzstan — Russia cooperation.
«It was in these classrooms, forty-five years ago, that my understanding of economic processes, the role of public administration, and the importance of international cooperation was formed,» he said.
The Cabinet Chairman spoke to faculty and students about the current state of Kyrgyzstan’s economy and prospects for cooperation with Russia, and encouraged young people to actively participate in the development of their countries.
«You will be the ones making decisions that will determine the development of our countries, the effectiveness of our economies, and the well-being of our citizens,» he addressed the students.
Adylbek Kasymaliev also thanked the university’s leadership and academic council for conferring the honorary title.
It should be noted that the current head of the Cabinet of Ministers graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Finance and Economics, which is now part of the St. Petersburg State University of Economics, in 1984 with a degree in economics.
