The Commission on a Common Alphabet for Turkic Countries has developed a recommended version of the Kyrgyz alphabet. The latest expert meeting was held in Astana and organized by the Turkic Academy jointly with the Turkish Linguistic Community.

Representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey participated in the meeting.

Academy President Shahin Mustafayev noted that interest in a common Turkic alphabet has grown in the academic community, educational institutions, and the public sphere.

To popularize the common Turkic alphabet, Abai’s book Qara Sözder in Kazakh and Chingiz Aitmatov’s novel Aq Keme in Kyrgyz, using the Latin alphabet, were published in 2025.
