At a session of the Zhogorku Kenesh on June 11, deputies reviewed and approved the election of Mederbek Usarov as Deputy Akyikatchy (Ombudsman) of Kyrgyzstan. The parliamentary press service reported.
His candidacy was presented to the deputies by Ombudsperson Jamilya Jamanbaeva.
The Zhogorku Kenesh decided to dismiss Zhanibek Zhorobaev from his post as Deputy Ombudsman early.
Mederbek Usarov was born in 1977 in Uzgen. He graduated from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic with a degree in jurisprudence and holds a PhD in law. He has extensive experience of work in law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Justice, and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic. He taught at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University and worked at the National Academy of Sciences.
In recent years, he held the positions of secretariat expert and advisor to the leader of Ishenim parliamentary faction, and since January 2026, he has worked as a consultant to a member of the Zhogorku Kenesh.
