During a working visit to Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, Erlis Akunbekov, met with his counterpart Kurbon Hakimzoda.
The meeting focused on deepening bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural sector following the reciprocal state visits of the presidents in 2025, implementing documents signed during the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Council, and further developing cooperation in the agrarian industry.
The sides considered the possibility of developing a joint roadmap for implementing the signed agreements and protocols in the agricultural sector. This would help systematize joint work, define specific measures, implementation deadlines, and responsible institutions, as well as improve the effectiveness of practical partnership.
The parties also discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in agriculture, including veterinary and phytosanitary matters, livestock breeding and fisheries, crop production, as well as scientific and technical cooperation and seed production. An agreement was reached to exchange experience.
