Two earthquakes occurred in Kyrgyzstan on May 22, the Seismology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences reported.

The first was recorded at 10:22 a.m., and the second at 1:34 p.m.

The focus of the morning earthquake, with an intensity of approximately magnitude 3.5, was located in China, 175 kilometers southwest of the city of Naryn. No seismic activity was felt.

The focus of the second earthquake, with an intensity of magnitude 3, was located on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, 4 kilometers west of the village of Kyzyl-Zhar, 6 kilometers northwest of the village of Uch-Kurgan, 25 kilometers southwest of the city of Tash-Komur, and 35 kilometers northeast of the city of Namangan (Uzbekistan).

The intensity of the earthquake in the village of Kyzyl-Zhar reached magnitude 2.
