Kyrgyzstanis win four medals at Karate-Do Tournament in the Philippines

The Karate One Youth League World Ranking Tournament was held in Manila, Philippines, from May 14 to 17, the Bishkek City Hall reported.

More than 1,000 athletes from 58 countries participated in the competition. The Kyrgyz national team was represented by 10 athletes.

Following the tournament, representatives of the Olimp sports school won one gold and three bronze medals:

• Danil Khvan (12-13 years old, up to 50 kilograms) — 1st place;
• Derya Dayan (16-17 years old, over 66 kilograms) — 3rd place;
• Ilya Kobelev (16-17 years old, over 76 kilograms) — 3rd place;
• Ulukbek Turusbekov (12-13 years old, up to 55 kilograms) — 3rd place.

The Karate One Youth League tournament is one of the largest international youth competitions and is part of the world karate-do ranking system.
