SCNS dismantles channel for smuggling mobile phones into Kyrgyzstan

The State Committee for National Security (SCNS) and the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan have disrupted an illegal channel for the import of mobile phones, the SCNS press center reported.

According to the statement, expensive mobile devices were brought into Kyrgyzstan through the Ak-Zhol checkpoint.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 231 (Economic smuggling) and Article 242 (Evasion of taxes and other mandatory payments to the budget) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The SCNS added that investigative and operational measures are ongoing to identify all individuals involved and clarify the circumstances of the case.
