The 86th meeting of the Council of CIS Defense Ministers was held in Moscow, chaired by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov. The Commonwealth Executive Committee website says.
Major General Ruslan Mukambetov, Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic, participated in the Council’s work.
The meeting participants discussed military cooperation and regional security. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the Concept of Military Cooperation until 2030, which defines the priorities for cooperation between the countries. Following the meeting, an implementation plan was approved.
The ministers discussed the functioning of the joint air defense system and the system for monitoring and assessing the radiation, chemical, and biological situation. The parties outlined prospects for their further development and also considered ways to improve coordination among national forces within these frameworks, taking into account the experience of combat operations in recent years.
Following the meeting, decisions were signed aimed at strengthening the Armed Forces of the Commonwealth countries and enhancing their combat capabilities.
