Earthquake of magnitude 4.5 registered in Kyrgyzstan

An earthquake measuring approximately magnitude 4.5 was registered in Kyrgyzstan. The Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The tremors were recorded today at 5.28 a.m.

According to the Institute, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 3 kilometers from the city of Uzgen, 5 kilometers from the village of Kurshab, 30 kilometers from the city of Kara-Suu, and 45 kilometers from the city of Osh.

In populated areas, the earthquake’s intensity was:

  • in Uzgen, Myrza-Aryk, and Karool villages — approximately magnitude 4.5;
  • in the villages of Kurshab, Myrza-Ake, Krasny Mayak, and other villages — magnitude 4;
  • in Kara-Suu, Otuz-Adyr, Kurbu-Tash, Nichke-Sai, Salam-Alik villages — magnitude 3.5;
  • in Osh, Manas, Kok-Yangak — magnitude 3.
