Kyrgyzstani Zarina Asanova wins bronze at Boxing Tournament in Thailand

Kyrgyz athlete Zarina Asanova won a bronze medal at the International Boxing Tournament in Thailand, the Boxing Federation reported.

The World Boxing Futures Cup for athletes aged 19 and under was held on March 8-15 in Bangkok.

Zarina Asanova competed in the 70-kilogram weight class.

By draw, the Kyrgyzstani entered the semifinals against Sarra Scorrano from Italy.

After the first round, the Italian led 5-0, but the referee stopped the fight in the final minute of the second round after several knockdowns.

Zarina Asanova lost, but finished third and earned the bronze medal.
