130 children affected by crime in Kyrgyzstan in January

A total of 130 children were affected by criminal offenses in Kyrgyzstan in January, according to data from the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic citing the Prosecutor General’s Office.

During this period, minors committed 44 crimes, the majority of which were thefts.

Of the 130 child victims, 16.9 percent suffered from sexual offenses involving minors under the age of 16, about 7.7 percent were affected by robbery, and 6.2 percent by acts of hooliganism.

Seven children died as a result of criminal assaults, and 37 were injured.

The highest number of crimes against minors was committed in Bishkek — 26.2 percent.
