There is currently no precise information regarding debts accumulated during the tenure of the former mayor of Osh, current Mayor Zhanar Akayev told journalists.
According to him, the matter is being studied by relevant authorities and specialists.
Akayev reiterated his commitment to completing ongoing projects in the city.
«Several good projects have been started in the city, such as the construction of an overpass bridge. It cannot be said that all initiatives were negative. All worthwhile projects started by previous mayors need to be completed. We will request support from the republican budget and the Stabilization Fund. We are negotiating with the Cabinet Chairman and the President to finish these projects,» he said.
He added: «If we focus on who did what and how much debt has accumulated, we will waste time. We need to continue working. In the coming days, we will meet with entrepreneurs. Next week the City Council will convene. This year, Osh’s budget is 1.8 billion soms higher than last year — 5.2 billion soms.»
