In Kyrgyzstan, a state program provides support for first-time entrepreneurs. Nurbek Umetaliev, head of the Entrepreneurship Development Department at the Business Environment Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, said on Birinchi Radio.

According to him, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the project in early 2026, with its term extending until 2030.

«Startups will be supported across various sectors — the program covers around 20 areas of entrepreneurial activity. Up to 1 million soms can be obtained per project for a period of 18 months, with a grace period of up to six months. After the grace period expires, entrepreneurs begin paying the interest rate,» Umetaliev said.

He added that four commercial banks are already providing loans under the program.

Nurbek Umetaliev also recalled that in 2025 another startup support project was approved and is being implemented by the Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic. Under that program, loans are provided at an 8 percent interest rate and there are no preferential regimes.
