Rail passenger traffic has increased significantly in Kyrgyzstan. The state enterprise NC Kyrgyz Temir Zholu reported.
In 2025, passenger traffic increased by almost 60 percent, and passenger turnover by more than 70 percent. At least 432,500 passengers were transported, compared to 271,600 in 2024.
Domestic travel accounted for the majority of this growth. In 2024, 258,000 passengers used trains, compared to 417,800 in 2025.
