Heads of state bodies to be punished for slow work on investment projects

During an expanded meeting, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev reported on the Cabinet’s activities over the past four months, the Cabinet’s press service reported.

The Cabinet is reportedly taking comprehensive measures aimed at supporting entrepreneurship.

«A project «Preferential Lending to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises of the Kyrgyz Republic» has been approved, under which entrepreneurs are provided with loans at preferential interest rates. The government covers part of the interest burden on these loans through compensation. Under the «Emergency Support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises» project, interest-free loans totaling 8.5 billion soms are being provided. To date, 11,307 entrepreneurs have already received loans,» the statement reads.

Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized that 128 investment projects are planned to be implemented by the end of 2025.

«Each of the present heads of state bodies will be personally responsible for facilitating the implementation of these 128 projects and resolving any arising issues. A separate meeting on this matter will be organized in the near future. If there is any slowdown in work, appropriate measures will be taken,» he said, adding that the total volume of investments attracted for these projects exceeds $1.7 billion, and about 14,000 new jobs will be created.
