Another batch of equipment for the modernization of the power grid has been imported into Kyrgyzstan and unloaded at a storage facility. The press service of the Ministry of Economy reported.
The shipment includes new smart meters, self-supporting insulated wires, cables, and transformers.
According to the ministry, the total value of the equipment supplied is $58 million, funded by the World Bank — $33 million in grants and $25 million in loans.
The Ministry of Energy noted that the project «Modernization of the energy sector» provides for the purchase of a total of 291 transformers, 100 kilometers of cable and 233 kilometers of self-supporting insulated wires, as well as 500,100 smart meters.
