The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan conducted its second intervention in the currency market since the beginning of the year. According to the bank, $158.3 million was sold.
At least $129.4 million was sold on April 29 with settlements on the day of the transaction, and $28.9 million — on a date other than the date of the transaction.
Since the beginning of 2025, the volume of currency interventions amounted to $237.3 million.
The bank did not conduct any reverse interventions this year.
In 2024, the National Bank conducted 26 operations in the currency market. At least 13 of them were aimed at purchasing currency, which allowed to withdraw $369.35 million from the market. Other 13 operations concerned sales, the total volume of which amounted to $675.65 million.
