Speaker of the Zhogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of Kyrgyzstan Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu met with the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Numan Kurtulmuş. The parties discussed issues in the areas of developing political, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, expanding inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Touching upon the issue of expanding established ties in the fields of education and healthcare, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu outlined the existing broad potential in these areas. Noting that due to the pandemic, the agreement on free treatment of 150 Kyrgyzstanis in Turkish hospitals was suspended, the Speaker proposed to resume the agreement and increase the quota to 500 people.
Speaking about trade and economic relations, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu also added that Turkey occupies a special place in the structure of Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade.
Today, April 28, a Memorandum on Interparliamentary Cooperation was signed between the Zhogorku Kenesh and the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey.
