Kyrgyzstan is preparing to officially open the 2025 tourist season. The main event will take place on May 3 in Cholpon-Ata city. The purpose of the event is to stimulate domestic tourism and promote the country’s tourism potential, the press service of the Ministry of Economy reported.
The events include the traditional International Issyk-Kul Marathon Run the Silk Road — SCO for various distances. During the day, there will be a large-scale tourism fair, where guests can get acquainted with the offers of tour operators and resorts, win prizes, including vouchers and boat trips.
Guests will also enjoy an ethnographic zone with yurts, a food court, master classes on making souvenirs and entertainment for children. The business part of the program is presented by the International Tourism Forum Tourism 2030, where the development of the industry will be discussed. A gala concert featuring popular Kyrgyz artists will take place in the evening.
In addition, Ultra Issyk-Kul super marathon will start in Issyk-Kul region on May 5. Athletes from the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Switzerland, Russia and Belarus will run around the lake in six days, covering up to 90 kilometers per day.
