The authorities of Kyrgyzstan are studying the possibility of purchasing energy carriers, including natural gas and gasoline, not only from Russia but also from other countries. Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev told deputies, speaking at a meeting of the Committee on International Affairs of the Parliament.
«Alternative options are being considered,» he said, noting that the republic could buy oil and oil products from Azerbaijan or Iran.
However, Kyrgyzstan receives them from Russia at preferential rates, the foreign minister admitted.
He suggested that it would be possible to establish alternative supplies of oil and oil products after the completion of the construction of China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan railway.
