School No. 35 in Bishkek to get 100 Chromebooks for Google pilot project

Secondary school No. 35 in Bishkek will receive 100 Chromebooks as part of a Google pilot project. The press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kyrgyzstan reported.

In the spring of 2024, the ministry signed a cooperation agreement with Google, within the framework of which it is planned to launch Google schools in Kyrgyzstan. Secondary school No. 35 was chosen as the first pilot school, which will be provided with all the necessary equipment.

The main goal of the project is to study the impact of Google digital educational products on the quality of education.

100 Chromebooks required for the project will be donated by Bishkek Computer Plant LLC, the official representative of Fujian Centerm Information Co., Ltd. The devices will provide students and teachers of secondary school No. 35 with access to modern learning tools, and will also help improve digital literacy, the educational process through the use of innovative technologies and create a digital educational environment that meets modern standards.

The Ministry of Education reported that the school’s students and teachers have already undergone the necessary training to effectively use Chromebooks and Google educational products. If the pilot project is successful, including improvement of students’ performance and digitalization of school processes, the ministry will consider the possibility of scaling the initiative to other schools in the country.
