It is planned to install 500,100 smart meters by the end of 2025 in Kyrgyzstan, of which 50,000 have already arrived in the country as part of the World Bank project. The press service of the Ministry of Energy reported.
Installation of the devices for consumers will be free of charge. Financing is provided by NEN Kyrgyzstan JSC. Completion of all work is scheduled for the end of 2026, covering all consumers of the company.
According to the power industry specialists, about 448,500 smart meters were installed in the republic as of September 2024. In total, there are 1.2 million electricity consumers in Kyrgyzstan.
