The Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Tashiev said at a meeting of the Parliament that the state did everything possible to hold transparent and fair elections.
«We checked the parties and candidates. About 30 candidates in the republic had their registration revoked because they were related to organized crime groups and were involved in previously committed crimes. But it is difficult to clear everyone 100 percent. Therefore, there may be dishonest people among the current candidates,» he said.
Kamchybek Tashiev also noted that the state will not allow the use of administrative resources in the upcoming local elections. «Today, the state does not support any party or candidate. Let the people vote and elect themselves,» he added.
The presidential decree «On the dissolution of local councils and calling the elections of deputies of local councils» was issued on September 6. Elections of deputies of 33 city and 231 rural councils are scheduled for November 17.
