President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov called on members of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) to join the project on construction of Kambar-Ata 1 HPP. He said this at the OTS meeting in Bishkek.
The head of state noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is located at the source of the rivers of Central Asia. The country produces electricity using renewable hydropower resources and large hydropower plants.
«Our republic also has significant potential for generation of solar, wind energy and «green» hydrogen. Today, Kyrgyzstan is taking measures at the national level and in cooperation with the Central Asian states to ensure energy security and improve energy efficiency. Work is underway to build about 50 small and medium-sized hydropower plants. Agreements have been reached on the joint construction of the largest hydropower plant, Kambar-Ata 1, together with Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Taking this opportunity, I invite you to participate in the implementation of this large-scale project,» Sadyr Japarov said.
He also proposed considering the establishment of a regional center for technologies and «green» initiatives within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, which will enable development of renewable energy sources.
