CAFA named the best regional association of year in Asia

The Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) has been named the best regional association of the year in Asia for the second time in a row. The annual gala ceremony of the Asian Football Confederation was held in the capital of Korea.

CAFA was founded in 2015 and is the youngest regional association of the Asian Football Confederation. It includes football federations of six countries — Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. CAFA headquarters are located in Dushanbe. Until mid-2015, the organization was called the Central Asian Football Federation.

CAFA is currently headed by the son of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Rustam. He is also the president of the Football Federation of the republic.
