Mechanisms for elimination of obstacles in the internal market of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as the impact of problematic issues of international carriers on the development prospects of the EAEU were discussed at the international specialized exhibition KyrgyzTransLogistic 2024, which was held in Bishkek.
As the Eurasian Economic Commission noted, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Arzybek Kozhoshev recalled that «in the context of fundamental changes, the creation of new trade markets and the transformation of transport corridors, issues of seamless transportation and the creation of a sustainable transport and logistics framework for Greater Eurasia are of particular importance.»
He emphasized that a key aspect in assessing the effectiveness of cooperation is the work to detect and eliminate obstacles in the internal market of the union.
Work in the EAEU is currently underway on five restrictions and one exemption in the field of transport. They concern, among other things, the discrepancy between the maximum permissible masses, axle loads and dimensions of vehicles; differences in the procedure for issuing special permits for the movement of large-sized and heavy vehicles; differences in approaches to state regulation of aviation services; the absence of a mechanism for mutual access of vessels under the flag of member states to navigation on inland waterways.
«By reducing the number of obstacles on the transport route, we are gradually moving towards the creation of a single transport space and the formation of a common market of transport services of the EAEU,» Arzybek Kozhoshev said.
